Why Did You Choose Pilz?
I chose Pilz as I wanted to see what it was like working in a “smaller” more R&D focused company. My previous employers were large multinational corporations (Apple, Motorola), and I felt that my day to day tasks were moving further away from a development role than I intended. Since moving to Pilz, I have never looked back.
What do you like best about your role?
There is always something new and interesting in the pipeline. I have worked on many differing technologies. The work, while difficult at times, always provides a challenge that I find very interesting.
Name an interesting contribution you’ve made.
Currently designing a scripting interface for our PSS Winpro product. (A large scale IDE for PLC programming).
How long have you been here and what have you accomplished?
I have been in Pilz since June 2006. While here, I have become technical lead for three separate products.
What are your interests outside of work?
Windsurfing – If someone asks about the weather, my first thought is always about the wind. And rugby, I am a manager of a local rugby team that I played with for years.
