Our recruitment process:

Depending on the role that you are applying for, there will be variations in our interviewing process. You can read about the specifics of the processes applied for software development and service team candidates in the following sections

Software Development Hiring Process

The following process applies to both software development and software test interviews

The Phone Interview

Once you’ve sent in your application and it has been reviewed, our HR department will be in contact to organise a telephone interview.
During this 20 minute interview, a senior team member will speak to you to find out more about your technical skills and background.

Onsite Interview: Part One

Our first onsite interview delves deeper into your CV, asking questions about your past experience and your technical skills.
As well as meeting our HR representative, you can expect to meet at least two of our technical team who will see if you’ve got what it takes to work at Pilz.

  • Software developers will complete the interview with a 35 minute written test which will find out more about your coding and design skills.
  • Software test engineers will have to solve two 20 minute tasks at the beginning of this phase of the interview process.

Onsite Interview: Part Two

The final round of our interview process brings in at least two more of the technical team to go through some design and coding challenges at the whiteboard.
You’ll also meet one of our project managers along with our HR team to find out more about your team and interpersonal skills.

Note that your onsite interviews may be held on the same day.

What’s Next?

All your interviewers will get together and discuss how the process went. Everyone’s opinion counts at Pilz, so we’ll make sure everyone’s happy before sending out our
offer.

If you’ve met our standards you’ll be offered the job. Please be patient – as with all big decisions, this can take time.

Engineering Services Hiring Process

The Interview Process

Once you’ve sent in your application and it has been positively reviewed, our HR department will contact you in relation to setting up an initial telephone interview. During this 20 minute interview, a senior team member will speak to you to find out more about your technical skills and background. If your skill set matches the requirements for the role, HR will contact you inviting you to a face to face interview at a time that is beneficial to both you and to a senior member of the engineering services team. The structure of the interview will depend on the role you are applying for but will involve some or all of the following sections; aptitude test, technical written test, detailed review of your relevant employment history, competency/behavioural interview questions, opportunity to meet with other team members.

What’s next?

Your interviewer(s) will review how the interview went. If your application is successful, HR will contact you with the good news and make a job offer. If there are areas of your experience we need to explore in more detail you will be asked to attend a 2nd and final interview. You may also have the opportunity to meet other team members at this stage. We work very much as a team so we make sure that everyone is happy before sending out any offer.

If you’ve met our standards you’ll be offered the job. Please be patient – as with all big decisions, this can take time.
