Why did you choose Pilz?
Pilz stood out for me at the time due to the front end technologies it was using. I was big into HCI and wanted to work on desktop software with interesting user interfaces. I didn’t realise at the time how fast Pilz would grow, but it has been this constant evolution and change that keeps me enjoying what I do every day.
What do you like best about your role?
The most rewarding part of my role is being closely involved in a product from inception on some white boards to completion, running on customer sites.
What do you do on a typical day
As a technical lead, my day varies a lot. I get to have input at every stage of the product life-cycle, so my work involves analysis, design, coding, quality processes, and working with management and other teams.
How long have you been here and what have you accomplished?
I’ve been at Pilz for over 9 years and in that time, I’ve had the opportunity to work with a range of interesting technologies and projects. I’ve seen the company grow from strength to strength and worked on a number of successful product releases. Positively influencing product design and usability enhancements is one of my favourite accomplishments here.
What are your interests outside of work?
Outside of work, I like to keep busy outdoors. Running, Skiing, Mountain biking as well as travelling to new locations whenever I can. I also go through a few fads, such as computer graphic art, surfing, squash, learning guitar, coming up with ideas for the next big phone app….
